Sharda Group funded TMC during elections: BJP

Allahabad, Nov 27 (ANI): BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh on Wednesday slammed TMC and said that all media houses of Sharda are mouth pieces of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC and all the funding of TMC during election had come from Sharda Group and added that proper investigation should be made on TMC in Sharda chit fund. Police have arrested suspended TMC lawmaker Kunal Ghosh in West Bengal for his alleged role and conspiracy in the state's multi-billion Sharda chit fund scam.

Belgian Princess pays homage to 26/11 martyrs

Mumbai, Nov 27 (ANI): Belgium Princess Astrid and Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor laid wreath and paid homage to the victims of 26/11 terror attacks at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. India, on Tuesday, observed the fifth anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai carnage that shook the entire nation in 2008. This carnage strained the already tense relations between New Delhi and Islamabad as India suspects the killers to have come across the border. Several people were held hostage for three days before the National Security Guards (NSG) commandos killed the militants in the siege as they undertook 'Operation Black Tornado.'

Police recover explosives from Maoist hotbed in Jharkhand

Giridih, Nov 27 (ANI): In a joint operation, police and paramilitary forces recovered huge cache of explosives from a dense forest of Maoist hotbed in Jharkhand. Senior police officer Giridih area of the province, Ajay Sahu, said acting on an intelligence, a huge cache of ammunition was recovered from the forest area which was going to be supplied to Maoists. According to the police, 500 kilograms of explosives were recovered from a dense forest near Maheshkishor and Bhelwaghati villages of Giridih district.

P Chidambaram calls for stern action against service tax evaders

Kolkata, Nov 27 (ANI): Finance Minister P Chidambaram called for stern action against service tax evaders as the country’s tax scheme had met with poor response. Addressing an awareness camp on Voluntary Compliance Encouragement Scheme (VCES) in Kolkata on Tuesday, Chidambaram warned the defaulters to pay their taxes or else be ready to face legal action. The finance minister highlighted that the service tax amnesty scheme launched by his ministry has sought poor response so far. He revealed that thirteen chronic tax evaders have been arrested so far and the defaulters should not ignore the warning.

Pak PM breaks ground on nation's largest nuclear power project

Karachi, Nov 27 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif ceremonially broke ground on a $9.59 billion nuclear power complex designed to generate 2200 MW of electricity, state media reported. Pakistan is set to fix the country's ailing energy sector in three years with this plant. Sharif termed the ground breaking of the Project K-2 and K-3 'a proud moment in the energy history of Pakistan'. He thanked the Chinese government for extending help and support to Pakistan in the hour of need.

Bangalore: Teen girl gang-raped after trip to cinema, 4 arrested
