AAP declares first list of LS poll candidates Part - 1

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): AAP political affairs committee (PAC) held a meeting to discuss the strategy for the upcoming polls on Sunday and declared its first list of 20 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. Party leader Manish Sisodia announced the list with Kumar Vishwas contending against Rahul Gandhi, Ashutosh against Kapil Sibal among other contenders. With the announcement made, the 2014 general elections is no more a fight between the two major political parties, that is, BJP and Congress.

Maoists release abducted official in Ranchi

Ranchi, Feb 16 (ANI): Maoists on Sunday released abducted official in Ranchi amid strong pressure from the administration. An engineer who was working for Siddhartha Construction Company was abducted from Bundu area near Ranchi by Maoists on February 13. Engineer Pankaj Kumar was supervising construction of a bridge, which comes under the ambit of Ranchi police administration. The superintendent of police of rural Ranchi, Surendra Jha, said that the main priority of police was to bring back the abducted engineer safely.

Nobody wants certificate from Shakeel Ahmed: BJP on Ahmeds tweet

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): After Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of the Delhi chief minister over the stalling of the Jan Lokpal Bill, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed on Sunday defended Kejriwal's decision. Ahmed tweeted that the AAP chief proved himself more ethical by resigning to fulfill his national ambitions and targeted BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi saying that he is still glued to his CM chair unlike Kejriwal. Speaking on the same, BJP Leader Vijay Goel on Sunday said that nobody wants a certificate from Shakeel Ahmed. He also added that people want to see Narendra Modi as PM.

Political parties lashed out at Kejriwal, accuses him of eyeing on LS polls

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Political parties on Sunday lashed out at Arvind Kejriwal following his resignation as Delhi chief minister and accused him of eyeing on the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. BJP leader VK Malhotra said that Kejriwal has said 48 lies in 48 days of his government. He said that from the very beginning, he was eyeing on the general elections which is evident by his statement that the Delhi government is short-lived. Meanwhile, Congress leader Haroon Yusuf said that Kejriwal use corruption to play politics and his fight is not against corruption. He also said that AAP had already decided its candidates for general elections, which shows his real agenda.

Militant killed in encounter in Sopore

Sopore, Feb 16 (ANI): Security forces have gunned down a top militant in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore District, which is about 55 kilometers from Srinagar. Governor of Pakistani province roots for people to people contact to improve ties with India
