Temple authorities install air conditioners for gods amid rising temperature Kanpur, June 04 (ANI):

Kanpur, June 04 (ANI): As temperatures soared above 40 degrees Celsius in Uttar Pradesh, local authorities installed air conditioners, coolers in various temples to help devotees, priests and even gods to escape scorching heat. But in a state where power cuts are frequent, these amenities do little to serve their intended purpose. However, devotees said the arrangements were made to attract devotees in rising heat.

BSE closes points 52.76 down on June 4

New Delhi, June 4 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 52.76 points down to stand at 24,805.83. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 13.60 points down to stand at 7,402.25. IDBI Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 16.27% and 9.85% along with Max India and Indiabulls Real Estate with an increase of 8.84% and 8.63% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Wockhardt and Shriram Transport with a decrease of 3.89% and 3.35% along with Idea Cellular and ABB India Ltd. with a decrease of 2.86% and 2.60% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 100.75 points at 14,810.6 while the banking sector is up 90.69 points at 17,569.68 and the realty sector is up 30.74 points at 2,012.53. The Indian currency is up 0.06% at Rs 59.35 per dollar.

Politicos criticize Akhilesh Yadav for his 'Google' remark

SC rejects Subrata Roy's bail plea

New Delhi, June 04 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday once again rejected a bail plea of Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy. A bench of justices T S Thakur and A K Sikri, who had on May 29, reserved its order after hearing arguments from the counsel of Sahara Group and the SEBI on the fresh plea of Roy, has now referred the sahara case to a 3-judge bench. The court allowed Sahara to sell nine of its real estate assets in India to raise part of the money, but sought more information on the three overseas hotels the group had offered to sell.

Gopinath Munde's body cremated, daughter lit the funeral pyre

Parli, June 04 (ANI): Senior BJP leader and Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde who died in a road accident in New Delhi on June 03 was cremated with full state honours in his birth place Parli in Maharashtra. The senior BJP leader was sworn in as the Cabinet Minister last week. Munde's funeral pyre was lighted by his daughter Pankaja. Earlier, thousands of mourners, including senior party leaders, activists and commoners received the coffin at Latur airport.
