BJP questions Congress move to appoint judge to probe Snoopgate

New Delhi, May 03 (ANI): In a hard hitting attack on the Congress after union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde announced the appointment of a judge to probe the Snoopgate scandal involving chief of Gujarat and BJP's prime ministerial frontrunner Narendra Modi, BJP alleged that the Congress is desperate to culminate its five month long search for a judge to decide the case. Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley was addressing a news conference in New Delhi when he hit out at Congress for trying to rush into finding a judge to probe into the Snoopgate scandal just as its term is coming to an end. Meanwhile questioning Congress's intentions further, Jaitley said the party had already accepted its defeat.

BJP set to win record number of seats: Advani

Pithoragarh, May 03 (ANI): Senior BJP leader LK Advani said he was confident of more than 272 seats for the party in the general elections, the results of which are within a fortnight from now. Khaleda Zia blames Bangladesh govt for recent incidents of abduction & murder

Ravi Shankar Prasad hits back at Congress over Snoopgate investigation

Varanasi, may 02 (ANI): BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday hit back at Congress leaders Sushil Kumar Shinde and Kapil Sibal over appointment of a judge over Snoopgate investigation. Prasad stated that Congress is acting shamefully as they are on the verge of leaving the government a few days later. He particularly slammed Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde saying that under his leadership crime has increased rapidly in Delhi. Congress had filed an FIR against BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi for probe in Snoopgate scandal in which women’s phone conversations were said to have been tapped by Gujarat Police. Congress has also announced the appointment of a judge before May 16 to head the investigation.

It happens: Tiger Cubs

Aurangabad, May 2 (ANI): The Tiger pair named 'Samrudhi and Siddharth' at the Siddharth Garden and Zoo of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in India's western Maharashtra province has given birth to three cubs recently, who made their first public appearance. The director at the zoo, B.S. Naikwade said the three cubs, two female and one male, were born eight weeks ago to tigress Samrudhi. The three cubs were kept in a safe place due to critical period at initial stages of their birth. The newly born cubs are the fourth generation of tigers in this zoo. Twelve years ago a pair named 'Tara and Jahangir' brought to Aurangabad district from a zoo in northern state Punjab gave birth to the pair of 'Dipti and Guddu' and the same pair had given birth to 'Samrudi and Siddharth'. Meanwhile, the zoo authorities have sent one pair of tigers each to a zoo in central city of Indore and Borivali Zoo in western Mumbai city. India holds over half of world's tiger population. According to a 2011 census report, tiger population was estimated to be around 1,700. But media reports say the Indian tiger faces threat of extinction due to various reasons including hunting, poaching and lack of genetic diversity.
