Govt keen to set judicial commission: Ravi Shankar Prasad tells Parliament

New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Tuesday told parliament that the government was keen to set up a panel to appoint judges in wake of allegations of judicial corruption by a former judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Markandey Katju. Katju alleged that the previous Manmohan Singh government extended the tenure of a corrupt additional judge of the Madras High Court due to stay in power as its key ally from the Tamil Nadu had threatened to withdraw support. Ghaziabad, July 22 (ANI): A woman journalist was found dead in her apartment in Ghaziabad’s Mahagun Mosaic Society. Nikita Das Mandal was a producer with the Rajya Sabha TV. She lived with her husband at her apartment where her body was found in mysterious conditions at the Building’s basement. Kathua, July 22 (ANI): BSF foiled an infiltration bid and killed an intruder along the International Border (IB) in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Jawans of the 68 Battalion of BSF challenged and opened fire on the infiltrators, killing one of them on the spot. BSF troops launched a search operation and recovered body of an unarmed intruder.
