Addressing troops of Army and the Indian Air Force on his maiden trip to Leh and Ladakh, Modi condemned the continuing proxy war by Pakistan. Kargil, Aug 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 44 MW hydro power project at Chutak village in Kargil district on Tuesday. Modi arrived in Kargil as part of his official trip to Jammu and Kashmir, after inaugurating the 45 MW Nimoo-Bazgo hydroelectric power project in Leh. Earlier in the day, Modi also addressed a rally in Leh and came out strongly against Pakistan for continuing its proxy war of terrorism against India, saying it has lost the strength to fight a conventional war. Gumla, Aug 12 (ANI): Government teachers in red corridor of Gumla district urged authorities to take tough measures against the Maoists who are responsible for instilling fear among tutors leading to the shut down of schools in the area. The teachers staged a protest in the wake of abduction and murder of two government school tutors, who were siblings in Gumla district of Jharkhand on August 10. Prakash Toppo, a teacher with the Ghaghra Bansari Middle School, while going to school was abducted on August 06. Consequently, the abductors made a phone call at Toppo's residence demanding ransom of four lakh rupees.
