7 BSF jawans injured in terror attack near Srinagar, politicos condemn

New Delhi, Aug 12 (ANI): Political leaders on Tuesday condemned the attack by terrorists on BSF convoy at Pampore, 14 km from Srinagar, on Srinagar-Jammu highway late on Monday night. Seven men of the BSF 151 battalion, including an Assistant Commandant sustained injuries in the attack. The BSF convoy was coming from south Kashmir when it was attacked by the terrorists. School teachers urge govt to take tough measures against Maoists in Jharkhand

Gumla, Aug 12 (ANI): Government teachers in red corridor of Gumla district urged authorities to take tough measures against the Maoists who are responsible for instilling fear among tutors leading to the shut down of schools in the area. The teachers staged a protest in the wake of abduction and murder of two government school tutors, who were siblings in Gumla district of Jharkhand on August 10. Prakash Toppo, a teacher with the Ghaghra Bansari Middle School, while going to school was abducted on August 06. Consequently, the abductors made a phone call at Toppo's residence demanding ransom of four lakh rupees. Odisha, Aug 12 (ANI): Acting on a tip-off, Police raided and busted an illegal gun manufacturing unit in Odisha's Angul district. A total of 31 country-made pistols and 500 rounds of live cartridges were seized from the unit that was running inside a rented house. Superintendent of police Narasingh Bhola, Angul District said that the state police acted on intelligence input on illegal trading and manufacture of arms and ammunitions and raided several areas.
