Washington DC, Oct 01 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs briefed about the bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama. MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that Modi and Obama discussed ways to expand affordable renewable energy, while sustainably securing the future of our common environment. Obama and Modi aim to deepen ties and thus partner in a number of projects benefiting the world's oldest and largest democracy. Akbaruddin said Obama and Modi discussed an array of issues during an Oval Office meeting including the plans on expansion of affordable renewable energy. However, answering a question on countering terrorism and the big terror groups, the joint secretary of foreign ministry, Vikram Doraiswami, said India is not joining the coalition. Meanwhile, Doraiswami said that US firm would work closely with India to develop smart cities.
