Gumla, Aug 12 (ANI): Government teachers in red corridor of Gumla district urged authorities to take tough measures against the Maoists who are responsible for instilling fear among tutors leading to the shut down of schools in the area. The teachers staged a protest in the wake of abduction and murder of two government school tutors, who were siblings in Gumla district of Jharkhand on August 10. Prakash Toppo, a teacher with the Ghaghra Bansari Middle School, while going to school was abducted on August 06. Consequently, the abductors made a phone call at Toppo's residence demanding ransom of four lakh rupees. Odisha, Aug 12 (ANI): People in Odisha continued to face difficulties as floods triggered by heavy rain marooned residents of 15 villages in Sonepur district on Tuesday. Floods triggered by days of heavy rain in Odisha have killed 45 people and left more than 300,000 people cut off from basic services. More than 300 villages in the state have been left surrounded by floodwater, after major rivers such as the Mahanadi, burst their banks submerging large swathes of farmland, immersing roads and sweeping away bridges. More than 100,000 people had made their way to government relief camps where they were receiving shelter and cooked meals. New Delhi, Aug 12 (ANI): Union Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj, launched a website to facilitate exchange of updated information on the status of return of bodies of citizens to the country in case of death overseas.Talking to mediapersons in New Delhi on Tuesday, Swaraj said relatives in India have to face a lot of inconvenience due to lack of information if their loved ones, living in other countries, die due to some reason. She said that they are usually unaware on when the bodies will return and approach her inquiring about the same. In a bid to facilitate an easy flow of information between the missions abroad and kin over tracking bodies, the foreign ministry came up with the idea.
