Prime Minister Modi visits Australian War Memorial

Canberra, Nov 18 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi started of his day by visiting the War Memorial in Canberra where he paid his tributes to those Australians who had died at war while serving their country. He was also accompanied by his Australian counterpart Tony Abbott, where he laid a wreath in the Hall of Memory. Prime Minister Modi observed few minutes of silence at the memorial as a mark of respect and signed the visitor's book before he left.During his visit at the War Memorial to commemorate his visit today, Prime Minister Modi presented a replica of the Man Singh Trophy - a prized possession of Sikh regiment battalions - to his Australian counterpart. A similar example is seen during the Urs of Sai Ganji Baba in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, where devotees including Hindu and Muslims pay obeisance to saint and seek his blessings. During the Urs, religious scholars threw light on the teachings of the saint, while devotees remain busy chanting hymns and pray for peace and prosperity in the region. A free community kitchen is also installed where free food is served to devotees, who take the same as blessings from the shrine.
