PM Modi meets locals in Kathmadu before leaving for New Delhi

SAARC leaders' spouses enjoy traditional dance, handicrafts in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nov 27 (ANI): Spouses of South Asian leaders visited an ancient town on the outskirts of Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Thursday. The spouses were given a guided tour of the ancient Bhaktapur durbar square, a UNESCO heritage site and one of the top tourist draws in the Himalayan nation on the sidelines of the SAARC meeting. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's wife, Kulsoom Nawaz enjoyed her visit. They were also treated to traditional Nepali mask dance and visited handicrafts stalls specially set up for their visit.

Oil Minister says companies to decide rates of petrol, diesel

Modi, Sharif shake hands at SAARC retreat even as logjam over pact continues

Kathmandu, Nov 27 (ANI): In a brief meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif shook hands and shared pleasantries during the retreat at the SAARC Summit. During the summit, Modi had two-way talks with most leaders except Nawaz Sharif. India has stated that no conversation would be held with the Pakistani leadership until Pakistan commits to a "meaningful dialogue". Meanwhile, the SAARC leaders are making the last effort at the retreat to push the Pakistani premier to ink the regional connectivity agreements. Pakistan stalled the inking of SAARC connectivity on Wednesday on the pretext that they have not completed the "internal process".

Police recover live bombs from tourist bus in Gaya

Gaya, Nov 27 (ANI): Police officials recovered four live bombs from a tourist bus in Gaya district of Bihar. The police have taken some suspects into the custody for interrogation. The bombs were recovered few kilometers away from the venue where Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi held a rally. The empty bus from which bombs were recovered travels from Maoist-affected area Dumariya to Gaya district.

BJP Chief Amit Shah denied permission to hold rally in Kolkata

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): The feud between TMC and BJP deepened further after Kolkata municipal corporation refused BJP Chief Amit Shah the permission to hold a rally in the city. Shah was refused permission on Thursday. The party had applied as early as July for permission to hold a public meeting outside Victoria Hall, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee holds an annual rally every July for her party. Earlier, the city police had said that Shah's meeting would inconvenience commuters since a major traffic intersection is located at the venue. Differences between TMC and the ruling BJP has cropped up after recent developments in Saradha chit fund scam where a few TMC leaders were named and the party later alleged that Narendra Modi government is interfering in functioning of CBI against the regional party.
