"On Air Force Day, I salute our air force personnel. They are our pride and their bravery, commitment and dedication continues to inspire," said Prime Minister Modi. Earlier in the day, Chief of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha said that the IAF's journey of 82 years has witnessed many historic moments and it has emerged as one of the most formidable and respected air forces of the world. CBI says no foul play in Gopinath Munde's death

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly ruled out any foul play in the death of former Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde. The CBI was given the responsibility of probing the reasons behind the death of Munde following demands made by a number of senior BJP leaders who had suspected foul play in the accident. Munde died on June 3 this year after his car was hit by another vehicle in Delhi while he was on his way to the Indira Gandhi International Airport to take a flight to Mumbai. Thousands of people living on the international border have also stated to migrate to safer place as the Pakistan rangers last night again resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling and heavy firing on the BSF posts.According to BSF, over 50 BSF posts and nearly 30 border villages were affected by the fire from Pakistan side that restored at 8.30 pm last night. As the firing at some places in Arnia still continues, our forces have been retaliating and BSF troops at all the places are giving befitted reply to the fire from Pakistan. Indian envoy reviews progress of joint projects with Bangladesh

DA case: Jayalalithaa likely to move SC on bail plea

New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): Former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa and three other accused in an 18-year-old Rs. 66 crore disproportionate assets case, are likely to move the Supreme Court on Wednesday, challenging the Karnataka High Court's order to refuse bail to them. The Karnataka High Court rejected the bail pleas of the four accused on Tuesday, observing that corruption amounts to a violation of human rights. The judge quoted various cases of the Supreme Court under Prevention of Corruption Act and pronounced that there is no ground for giving bail to the accused convicts in this case. The court not only refused to grant of bail, but also declined to stay the sentence of four-year imprisonment and Rs 100 crore penalty imposed on her in the case. Oct 8, 2014

Dhule /New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): Janata Dal-United Chief Sharad Yadav, lashed out at the ruling BJP government for failing to deliver the promises it made before coming to power in May.
