Powered by half centuries from Lokesh Rahul and Suresh Raina and a collective bowling effort, India registered their biggest T20I win after convincingly thrashing minnows Ireland by 143 runs in the second and final T20 International, to pocket the two-match series 2-0 here on Friday. India's spin twins Yuzvendra Chahal (3/21) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/16) once again starred with the ball as the Irish batsmen continued to be at sea, before eventually crumbling to their second lowest T20I total. Chasing a mammoth 214, mainly built around half tons from Rahul (70 off 36 balls) and Raina (69 off 45) and a late order cameo from Hardik Pandya (32 not out off 9), Ireland could never recover from the early wickets as the Indian bowlers put on a collective effort to bundle them out for a meagre 70 in just 12.3 overs.

World No 3 Belgium stretched India till the final minutes of the match to split the points with a 1-1 draw at the men's hockey Champions Trophy here on Thursday. India made too many slip-ups in their defence that gave away five penalty corners in the last quarter, eventually messing up their 1-0 lead as Loick Luypert (59') converted Belgium's 10th attempt at a penalty corner to equalise. Harmanpreet Singh (10') was India's lone goal scorer that put Belgium on the back foot right at the start. Sitting at the bottom of the pool table, Belgium were desperate for a win and they began with that very intent, playing aggressive and attacking hockey. If not for an early save by India's seasoned goalkeeper P.R. Sreejesh off Cedric Charlier in the opening minute, Belgium would have well been ahead by a goal. But that didn't dent Belgium's pursuit as they continued to keep possession and even won the first penalty corner of the match after the ball hit Jarmanpreet Singh's foot. The chance was wasted though.

Wahbi Khazri struck a second-half winner as Tunisia secured their first win in FIFA World Cup after 40 years by overcoming debutants Panama 2-1 in a Group G clash here on Thursday. Yassine Meriah gifted Panama the lead by turning the ball into his own net before Fakhreddine Ben Youssef equalized just after halftime. Khazri completed the turnaround just after the hour mark with his second goal of the tournament, reports Xinhua news agency. The North African side's last victory in football's flagship event was a 3-1 defeat of Mexico in Argentina in 1978. Defending champions Germany crashed out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the group stage after South Korea stunned the European powerhouse with a 2-0 victory in their final Group F contest here on Wednesday. From Group F, Sweden secured the top spot with six points, while Mexico, which also had six points, finished second due to an inferior goal difference. South Korea ended the group stage in the third spot with three points -- same as Germany, who are also going home. Before the two matches in the group on the day, Mexico had the best chance to enter the knockout stage, as a tie in the match with Sweden would be enough for it to qualify, while both Sweden and Germany fought with each other for second place, needing an outright victory and a big goal difference. South Korea also had a possibility to enter the playoffs as well, however, only if Sweden lost the game to Mexico. South Korea took care of their own end at the Kazan Arena, with Kim Young-gwon and Son Heung-min scoring in second half stoppage time. But Sweden made it all moot by beating Mexico 3-0 in Ekaterinburg, reported Yonhap news agency.
