Gold jumps by Rs 4,000 this week, silver crosses Rs 1.23 lakh per kg

The price of 22-carat gold has risen to Rs 97,406 from Rs 93,787, while 18-carat gold has climbed from Rs 76,791 to Rs 79,754 per 10 grams. Silver too witnessed a strong rally. "It has come to notice that an informal message claiming to be from Chairman CBIC is being widely circulated on social media, claiming that certain transition benefits under GST will be applicable from September 22 on issues related to unutilised cess credit, ITC of exempted supplies and new price adjustment provisions.
