West African military force enters Gambia capital

A convoy of military vehicles carrying troops from a West African regional military force entered Gambias capital, Banjul, on 22 January. The operation is aimed at securing Gambia, allowing the new President Adama Barrow to return and assume office. At least four people were killed when a tornado ripped through southern Mississippi on Saturday (21 January). The weather wrecked homes and left people trapped in their homes while extensive damage was reported in the Hattiesburg area, according to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
