Development of Gujarat due to Congress not Narendra Modi: Manish Tewari

New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): Reacting to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's speech in Imphal, Information and Broadcasting Minister and Congress leader Manish Tewari on Saturday said that the development of Gujarat was due to the Congress, and not because of Modi as he liked to claim. Addressing a rally in Imphal, Modi had said that the Congress government had terribly failed in developing the north east region. He also said that the state in which Manipur is now was bleak and cited the example of Gujarat to draw a comparison. He further said that Manipur has had the worst governments of the Congress. Jan Lokpal bill not unconstitutional, prior consultations done: Nagendra Sharma

New Delhi, Feb 08 (ANI): After Delhi Jan Lokpal bill brought about controversy on its legality, Arvind Kejriwal's media advisor Nagendra Sharma said that the bill is not unconstitutional and that prior consultations were made. He said that the lawyers who are refuting on any claims of consultation are right and that they were consulted not on the particular bill but on whether a bill can be passed by the Delhi cabinet or not. ICC revamp plan approved in Singapore, Srinivasan to become chairman

New Delhi, Feb 08 (ANI): BCCI President N Srinivasan has been selected as the next ICC chairman in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) board meeting held on Saturday. Srinivasan would be the third Indian to head the ICC. He will join his post from July 2014, for two years. The ICC's radical revamp plan proposed by the "Big Three" of international Cricket-India, Australia and England was also approved by eight members voting in favour of it, and two abstaining from the voting process. The construction of a border road between Assam and Nagaland to benefit villagers

New Sonowal, Feb 08 (ANI): The construction of a 23km long pucca road from Gauri Chauwa under Tipabor sub-division to New Sonowal by the PWD is in full swing. There are 17 villages within this stretch, mainly engaged in agriculture. Earlier, the villagers used to face many problems in transporting goods and availing services. The construction of the road as well as 7 new bridges has come as a ray of hope for the people who are expecting their lives to improve now. The project has been allotted a budget of Rs 20 crores. The construction of the pucca road has given hope of better business to this group of students from Kherimiya village who started vegetable farming recently.
