Politicos react on reports that BSP, CPI and NCP may lose national status

New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday reacted on reports that BSP, NCP and CPI may lose national status as parties. BJP leader MJ Akbar said that this is a decision of the Election Commission and it is appropriate if the parties fail to gain public faith in form of votes. Congress leader Rashid Alvi stated that the parties which do not get the minimum national support naturally lose national status. Meanwhile, JD (U) leader Ali Anwar said that it is not the first time that less recognised parties are losing national status.

Pallavi Purkayastha murder case: Watchman found guilty of murder, molestation

Mumbai, June 30 (ANI): Almost two years after Mumbai lawyer Pallavi Purkayastha was brutally murdered inside her apartment building, the security guard of the building has been convicted of murder. He has also been pronounced guilty of molestation and trespassing by the Mumbai court. 25-year-old lawyer Pallavi Purkhayastha was brutally murdered at her Wadala apartment on August 9, 2012. She was killed by Sajjad Ahmed Mogul, the security guard of the building. Her fiancée, Avik Sengupta, who discovered her body, died of an illness in November 2013.

DU students protest outside UGC, demand continuation of BMS

New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Delhi University B Tech students on Monday protested outside University Grants Commission office demanding the continuation of their course and that too under the FMS tag. DU has also decided to discontinue its B Tech and BMS courses and would not hold any fresh admissions to them. Hundreds of students of these two courses gathered outside UGC and shouted slogans against the system of DU and UGC. The student protestors said that by discontinuing the course the university is playing with their future.

Rath Yatra peacefully enters second day amidst tight security

Puri, June 30 (ANI): Over 10 lakh devotees converged in Odisha to participate in annual chariot festival or Rath Yatra in Puri city and pulled chariots of Hindu Lord Jagannath. Bangladesh devotees celebrate Rath Yatra with religious fervor

Dhaka, June 30 (ANI): Devout Hindus soaked in religious fervour thronged streets of Dhaka city in Bangladesh and celebrated the annual Hindu chariot festival or Rath Yatra. People, especially women, celebrated the nine-day-long festival, which commemorates a journey by Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, in specially made chariots. Nirmala Sitharaman to raise trade gap issue with Chinese counterpart

Beijing, June 30 (ANI): Minister of State for Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Nirmala Sitharaman said that she would raise trade gap issue with her Chinese counterpart in a scheduled meeting, during which she is expected to pitch for big investments like Chinese industrial parks. Brazil, June 30 (ANI): Costa Rica fans poured out of Recife's stadium in Brazil victorious after their team beat Greece on penalties guaranteeing them a place in the World Cup quarter finals for the first time in the small country's history. Costa Rica played for 54 minutes with just ten men after Duarte was sent off when he was shown a second yellow card. The teams drew 1-1. Greece lost after failing to save the 4th penalty. Although it was an uneventful start, the second half saw a real battle when Greece went on the attack. It is the first time that Costa Rica has made it to the quarter finals. The last time they got through to the knockout stage was in 1990.
