Political situation in Bihar collapses, politicos react

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): As the political situation in Bihar collapsed with a major split in Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and thereafter a possible alliance between Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP and BJP, political parties reacted to the series of events. One the one hand, Rajya Sabha MP Mohd Adeeb and BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi speculated it to be bad trick by JD (U) condemning the act. Whereas, Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi took it as a common series of incidents which takes place as the elections comes closer. Meanwhile, JD (U) leader KC Tyagi refuted claims of any trick by his party for the split and said that RJD and JD (U)’s membership is transferable and there is nothing to be concerned of. SC refers passive euthanasia plea to 5-judge bench

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Supreme Court on Tuesday referred a plea for voluntary passive euthanasia in the case of a person who is terminally ill and in medical opinion there is little hope of revival and recovery, to the constitution bench of 5 judges. The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam said an earlier judgement of the court on voluntary passive euthanasia in Aruna Shanbaug's case did lay down a certain procedure but it was not clear. Opposition slams Shindes crush media remark, Congress clarifies

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Giving clarification over his remark to "crush" the electronic media, Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday said that he did not mean "journalism" but “social media”. Shinde was heard threatening to "crush" the electronic media, alleging a section of it was unnecessarily provoking the Congress party by indulging in "false propaganda" against it. Patna, Feb 25 (ANI): RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday alleged that the Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party are conspiring to split his party. Baffled ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Lalu said that what Nitish Kumar has done is similar to America's Watergate scandal. RJD Chief has called for an emergency meeting of his party leaders and is expected to meet all the 13 MLAs. On Monday, 13 of Lalu's 22 Bihar legislators announced that they had split away from the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
