New Delhi, May 30 (ANI): Narendra Modi on Friday moved into7 Race Course Road, the official residence of the Indian Prime Minister. Modi who believes in simple living didn't ask for any changes in the residence vacated by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh last week. Modi's residence as chief minister of Gujarat was minimalist in nature, with the living room having just four chairs and a small centre table. That home in Gandhinagar is in a compound shared with the governor of the state and nestles in a grove inhabited by swans, peacocks and other birds. May 30, 2014

Raman Singh demands additional benefits for Chhattisgarh

India reels under intense heat wave

Bhopal / Nagpur / Chandigarh / New Delhi, May 30 (ANI): Several parts of India are reeling under a heat wave as the mercury continues to soar forcing most of the people to stay indoors. It was the pedestrians and two-wheeler riders who suffered the brunt of heat the most and looked for ways to beat it. Locals were seen carrying umbrellas, wearing protective clothing and drinking fruit juice to protect themselves. Roadside juice vendors did brisk business as locals thronged shops for refreshing cold beverages. 2G scam: Court slaps a fine of rupees one lakh on Balwa

Two Indian-origin boys tie for Scripps National Spelling Bee championship trophy

United States, May 30 (ANI): Two Indian-origin boys have been crowned the co-winners of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. For the first time in 52 years, two spellers have been declared co-champions. Sriram Hathwar, 14, of Painted Post, New York, and Ansun Sujoe , 13, of Fort Worth, Texas, shared the title after they spelled a dozen words correctly in a row. Shutdown call by TDS hits normal life in Telangana

The city wore a deserted look as shops and business establishments remained closed at many places, including Hyderabad.
