Secretariat of Jammu and Kashmir moves to winter capital

Jammu, Nov 10 (ANI): With growing chill in the air, the secretariat of Jammu and Kashmir moved to its winter capital, Jammu, on Monday (November10) with the ceremonial guard of honour for the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, to mark the occasion. The bi-annual practice of shifting the 'Darbar' (Secretariat) between the two capital cities of the state dates back to the 19th century. The government operates from Srinagar during summers and from Jammu in winters. It is estimated that the whole exercise of relocating offices costs the government crores of rupees every year. Srinagar, experiences severe snow covered winters and a pleasant weather in summers, while Jammu city records high temperatures during summer, but is relatively warm in winters. Nov 10, 2014

He said that he never applied of the same and so there is no question of ticket rejection. Dhir went on the appreciate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the country has not seen such a PM in recent years and that Modi is taking the nation in right direction. Katra, Nov 10 (ANI): Women in Katra district of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the 10th Rustum e Hind Indian style wrestling competition to promote gender equality. The organiser of the competition, Shiv Kumar, said that women should participate equally as men, especially in wrestling. Kumar further said that wrestling competitions should be conducted at every level with camps and proper coaching facilities so that more women take up this game. Meanwhile, the women wrestlers were happy and wanted more such competitions in future. Police arrest three accused in Australian woman murder case in Andhra Pradesh

Puttaparthi, Nov 10 (ANI): Police arrested three accused for allegedly killing an Australian woman on the outskirts of pilgrim town Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, said a senior officer. Superintendent of Police, Sriniwas Lu said Toni Anne Ludgate was murdered by the watchman of an apartment where she was staying. Ludgate was murdered by the security guard of her apartment complex with the help of two accomplices on August 28 as the guard was unable to return the rupees 20,000 he owed her.
