BJP asks Sonia Gandhi to come out clean on Sanjaya Barus book

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitaraman hits out at Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi on Saturday after former media adviser to Prime Minister, in his book stated that Gandhi undermined Singh’s power. Sanjaya Baru’s book, "The Accidental Prime Minister", was published on Friday. Singh's spokesman dismissed the book as an incorrect interpretation of the prime minister's 10 years in power. Sitaraman, while addressing a news conference demanded an answer from Sonia Gandhi.

Jairam Ramesh releases Congress manifesto for Telangana

Hyderabad, Apr 12 (ANI): Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh on Saturday released the Congress’ election manifesto for Telangana, focusing on how to reconstruct the state on all fronts while mainly addressing problems of water and bifurcation of state level employees. The manifesto was released at the state Congress headquarters. Apart from the other promises, the manifesto also laid a stress on upliftment of weaker sections and promised some new welfare schemes. The manifesto also made key promises with regard to setting up new industries in the new State besides developing it in agriculture sector.

RJD leader Rabri Devi files nomination papers

Chhapra, April 12 (ANI): RJD leader Rabri Devi on Saturday filed nomination papers from Saran constituency of Bihar making her entry into general elections. Rabri Devi is likely to face a tough fight from BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The confident Devi said that she was hopeful of her win from the constituency and the only competition she had to face was BJP Candidate Rudy. Devi was accompanied by her husband and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav as she filed her nomination from Chhapra-headquarter of Saran district in Bihar. Bihar will go to polls on April 17 which will mark fifth phase of the Lok Sabha Polls.
