Narendra Modi pitches for IT revolution in India

Mumbai, Feb 14 (ANI): BJP's Prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday pinned hopes on IT revolution in the country, as he lauded the information technology industry, considering it as an agent of change. Modi was addressing a session of the NASSCOM India Leadership Forum through video-conferencing in the financial capital Mumbai. Hailing the growth of the information technology industry, Modi said that it has enhanced the image of the nation across the world. Modi also said that India should become digital and knowledge should be imparted to all the people at the grass root level.

Jaganmohan Reddy meets Rajnath Singh over Telangana issue

New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): YSR Congress President YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday met BJP President Rajnath Singh over Telangana issue. Reddy, who was on Thursday suspended along with15 other MPs by the Lok Sabha speaker for involvement in the unruly behavior and unprecedented clashes inside the Parliament, said that he had a detailed discussion with Singh on the topic. Reddy also added that he is hopeful that wisdom will win upon the opposition. In a bid to protest the manner in which the Telangana bill was tabled in Parliament on Thursday, YSR Congress has announced an Andhra Pradesh shutdown on Friday.

Shutdown in Andhra Pradesh continues over Telangana row

Guntur, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Feb 14 (ANI): Supporters of YSR Congress party and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) called for shutdown for second consecutive day in various districts of Andhra Pradesh on Friday against the creation of a new state. Members of YSR Congress party burnt tyres and staged a protest shouting slogans on the streets of Guntur district against the central government over its decision of creation of a separate state, Telangana by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh. Effect of shutdown was also seen in capital city Hyderabad, where businesses remained shut and also in the port city of Visakhapatnam where no public transport was visible and people were seen waiting at the bus stops.
