BSF exchanges Eid sweets with Bangladeshi counterparts

Siliguri/Agartala, Oct 6 (ANI): Troops of paramilitary Border security Force (BSF), stationed along the India-Bangladesh border, celebrated Eid al-Adha by exchanging sweets with security personnel of Bangladesh on Monday. BSF personnel posted at Phulbari border under Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal gifted a box of sweets to the members of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) as a step of goodwill and to enhance bilateral relations. The exchange of sweets between India and Bangladesh along the border in West Bengal is an old and traditional gesture to show goodwill between the two nations and has been in practice for many years now. Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is considered one of the two most important occasions in the Islamic calendar, and marks the end of the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. Dharamsala, Oct 06 (ANI): The second edition of Miss Himalaya Pageant 2014 concluded in Dharamsala with Jyoti Dogra crowned as the winner of the contest. The event was organised by exiled Tibetan Lobsang Wangyal Productions in McLeod Ganj town. There were five contestants from the Himalayan region who participated in the annual event. After getting the crown of Miss Himalaya, the winner Jyoti Dogra said that she wants to become a role model for all Himalayan girls. The competition began on Saturday at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), which included talk and talent rounds. Geneva, Oct 06: Incidents of enforced disappearances of thousands of innocent civilians and activists in Pakistan's Baluchistan province have shook one and all for years now. Amid all these intense situations, comes news of human meat being served in Quetta city. A report by EP Today, a monthly newspaper published by the European Parliament, reveals human meat being served in many small restaurants and to the army stationed in Quetta. The report named Asghar Hassan, who has received human bodies at intervals from some unidentified people. Along with the bodies, he received an amount of 100,000 Pakistani Rupees to get the job done. The supply of human flesh is occurring in a region where cases of missing persons have been left unanswered for ages.
