Brisbane, Nov 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane today, left behind a message for students, saying research is the mother of development. The Prime Minister, who was accompanied by industrialist Gautam Adani, interacted with students and left a message on an 'Agrobot' for them. "Research is key to development. There is an ongoing relationship between the development journey of human kind and research. Increasing dominance of science and technology in the field of agriculture will surely prove to be beneficial to farmers and to the field of agriculture as a whole. It is an important endeavour for the welfare of mankind. Best wishes for your efforts," he wrote in his message. The Prime Minister will meet UK Prime Minister David Cameron later in the day. Poll-bound Delhi hikes power tariff up to 7%, Congress slams BJP govt at centre

New Delhi, Nov 14 (ANI): In a major jolt to the poll bound Delhi, the power tariff in the national capital has been hiked by up to seven per cent by the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission and will come into effect from Saturday. The regulator hiked the tariff by levying surcharge heeding to the demands of the three private power distribution companies. Meanwhile, the Congress slammed the Modi government at the centre over the hike. Modi govt launches Bal Swachhta Mission to mark 125th birth anniversary of Nehru

Mumbai/ New Delhi, Nov 14 (ANI): The Modi government on Friday launched a nationwide mission called Bal Swachhta Mission to mark the 125th birth anniversary of the country's first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru. The mission was launched by Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi under which a cleanliness drive would be organized in schools across the country between 14th and 19th of this month. A series of functions including lecture, debate and symposium on the occasion will also be organized across the country.
