Police arrests two Maoist rebels in Jharkhand

Palamu, Jan 31 (ANI): Police in Jharkhand on Saturday claimed major success when they arrested two Maoist rebels involved in several anti-government operations. One of the arrested rebels was a regional committee member of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), Jairam Yadav, who was involved in more than two dozen cases. He and his aide, Bhupendra Yadav, were arrested when they came to visit their family in Palamu region of the state. Police said Jairam was involved in an encounter with security forces in Katia jungle in Latehar district in 2013, where the Maoists planted an explosive inside the body of a dead soldier. Sonitpur, Jan 31 (ANI): Six persons were killed in a road accident in Sonitpur district of Assam on Saturday. The collision was between a bus and a car carrying a marriage party on the National Highway 15. The marriage party was on their way from the wedding 200 kilometers away, to the groom's house. While four people, including the married couple died on the spot, two others died after being brought to a nearby hospital. The car was totalled. A total of 2234 students of the Velammal Matric Higher Secondary School in Chennai gathered in the school grounds to attend the reading session. Senior students took out time to read to their junior schoolmates as they sat on chairs together. The book that was chosen was 'Dora the Explorer', which revolves around the adventures of a young girl and her pet monkey.
