Reactions pour in after Bihar CM blames crowd for Patna stampede

New Delhi, Oct 5 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Sunday after Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi refuting the charges of incompetence of his government in handling the situation of stampede that occurred in Patna's Gandhi Maidan after Dussehra celebrations were over, blamed the crowd for the incident. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that blaming the crowd which was subjected to panic is unreasonable. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that he should have accepted that the incident was a result of his government's incompetence and should have assured the people of Bihar that such incident would not occur in future.

Politicos react after heavy firing by Pakistan in Poonch

New Delhi, Oct 5 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Sunday after heavy and unprovoked firing by Pakistani troops took place in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy commenting on the ongoing ceasefire violations said that the country should start preparing for war with Pakistan. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that the government should have serious talks with the Pakistan officials regarding border issues. Heavy firing by Pakistani rangers in Mendhar, Sawjian sector of Poonch

Men s hockey team receives grand welcome upon arrival in New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 5 (ANI): The Indian men's hockey team, which won gold medal in the 17th Asian Games after defeating Pakistan, received a grand welcome upon its arrival in New Delhi on Sunday. A group of traditional dancers performed to the beats of drums. The Indian team defeated Pakistan 4-2 to win a Gold after a gap of 16 years. India, which last won the gold in the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, has also bagged direct entry to 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after it beat Pakistan in the shoot out. However, the Indian team's coach, Terry Walsh, cautioned the players to continue working hard. India now has a total of 57 medals, which includes 11 Gold, 10 Silver and 36 Bronze. India's position is 8th in the overall medals tally at the Asiad.

Police arrest three Maoists in Jharkhand

Lohardaga, Oct 5 (ANI): Police arrested three Maoists including two men and a woman in India's red corridor of Jharkhand. Superintendent of Police (SP) of Lohardaga district said that a search operation was conducted on the tip off intelligence to nab the rebels and six different SIM cards were also recovered from the arrested Maoists. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s. The Maoists control large but poor areas of the region and often attack railway lines and mining operations to cripple economic activities.

Tetseo sisters from Nagaland popularize Naga folk music

Nagaland, Oct 5 (ANI): Meet the Tetseo sisters! One of the most popular female bands from Nagaland. They sing songs known as "Li" (folksong) in the Chokri dialect of the Chakhesang tribe of Nagaland that tells stories of Naga people, their joys and sorrows, hopes and aspirations. They started practicing music in their school days and have not looked back since then. They specialize in folk music and aim to keep it alive among the youth. The Tetseo Sisters comprise four siblings – Mercy, Azi, Kuvelü and Lulu. The sisters released their first album of acoustic songs called "Li" Chapter One "The Beginning" in 2011. During their performance they use age-old Naga string instrument known as "Tati or Heka Libuh". They have performed in different places across the country and abroad. Recently, they mesmerized the audience at Scotland, Myanmar and Thailand.
