LGBT community hopes for apology from Goa Minister

Bengaluru, Jan 13 (ANI): The Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community is hoping that Goa's Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Ramesh Tawadkar apologizes for his controversial statement. Tawadkar on Monday sparked a row by saying that government is contemplating setting up centres to make LGBT youth 'normal'. Tawadkar said that the LGBT youth will be trained and administered medicine in order to make them 'normal'. While addressing Trinamool supporters, Debnath said that the women activists of Left party often stoop to such a low level that they tear their own blouses and claim being assaulted. Debnath added that when these activists quarrel with their husbands and are attacked, they don't blame them, but instead frame Trinamool members. Indian army organizes blood donation camp in Kashmir

Budgam, Jan 13 (ANI): Indian army organised a blood donation camp in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to reach out to the local residents. Many soldiers, along with residents, donated blood at the camp organised in Budgam district. General Officer Commanding Kilo Force of Rashtriya Rifles, Asit Mishra, said that blood donation is the highest form of humanism. Requirement of blood has always been high in the state due to militancy and insurgency activities. The army said it planned to take up similar projects in the future.
