Shazia Ilmi said that she was upset with Aam Aadmi Party and therefore finally joined BJP to work for the welfare of the nation. Japanese foreign minister meets PM Modi in New Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at the start of a two-day trip aimed at boosting ties between Asia's second and third largest economies. Kishida's trip comes on the heels of the crushing win of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in national polls last month and a visit by Modi to Japan last year. Kishida arrived in New Delhi on Friday to co-chair the eighth India-Japan Strategic Dialogue with his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj on Saturday. Petrol price cut by Rs 2.42 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.25 a litre

New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): Oil marketing companies on Friday cut petrol prices by Rs 2.42 while it cut diesel price by Rs 2.25 per litre. Meanwhile, the government raised the excise duties on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 a litre. Retail pump rates will remain unchanged as the increase in excise duty neutralises the cut in petrol and diesel prices warranted from crude oil price slumping to about USD 46 per barrel. The increase, the fourth since Prime Minister Narendra Modi lifted diesel price controls in October' seeks to cash in on lower world oil prices to bolster strained government finances without stoking inflation. Kolkata, Jan 16 (ANI): A court on Friday sent six men accused of gang raping a 23-year-old Japanese student to jail till January 30. The six accused, Mohammad Sabir, Washim Khan, Sahid Iqbal, Mohammad Wasim, Javed Khan and Sajid Khan, were produced before a court in Kolkata. Kolkata police busted a racket of tour guides, who duped Japanese students and tourists. Three tour guides lured a Japanese student and took her to Gaya city in Bihar, where they were joined by three more people, and then gang-raped her and looted her of rupees 25,000. Sarnath, Jan 16 (ANI): Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay visited the Buddhist pilgrimage centre Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Tobgay visited Sarnath Archaeological Museum, which houses the findings and excavations at the archaeological site of Sarnath. The main attraction of the museum is Ashoka pillar which is the national emblem of India. Sarnath, located at about 10 km from Varanasi, is the place where Buddha chose to deliver his first sermon.
