Bangalore/ Chennai, Oct 07 (ANI): As Karnataka High Court is all set to give pronouncement in bail plea by Jayalalithaa, the court witnessed high security in order to avoid any untoward incident after the pronouncement. Prohibitory orders under section 144 are also imposed around the court premises in Bangalore. The court is hearing the plea filed by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and her three associates convicted in a disproportionate assets case. Meanwhile, Chennai witnessed protests as well as prayers from AIADMK leaders and Jayalalithaa's supporters. Many were seen taking part in a special prayer 'hawan' for the release of party chief. NCP says EC s notice to Gadkari on right grounds even as BJP terms it as bogus

New Delhi/ Mumbai, Oct 07 (ANI): NCP leader Majid Memon on Tuesday said that Elections Commission's show cause notice to Nitin Gadkari is on right grounds and he should apologise for the same even as BJP terms the case as 'bogus'. BJP leader Subramanium Swamy said that Gadkari talked about bribery in a sarcastic way and that EC should have a sense of humour. PIO cards now valid for lifetime

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Effectively fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's announcement on consular and visa issues during his address at the Madison Square Garden in New York City last month, all Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards are now valid for the lifetime of the cardholder, instead of 15 years, according to a Gazette notification issued on September 30th, 2014. Following Prime Minister Modi's announcement that PIO cardholders would be exempt from police reporting, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued instructions through the same Gazette notification dated September 30th, that PIO cardholders would not be required to report to a police station even if their visit to India exceeds 180 days. Swiftly implementing all the announcements made by Prime Minister Modi, instructions have been issued to Embassies and Consulates that unless there are exceptional circumstances, visas to US nationals should normally be given for 10 years. New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Reacting on the ongoing ceasefire violation by Pakistan which is the 17th time this month, Security Experts on Tuesday said that Pakistan Army does not listen to the government and that Indian government needs to take pro-active steps to counter the attempts of Pakistan. Pakistan Rangers targeted 40 border out posts and 25 border hamlets by resorting to heavy mortar shelling and firing along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir, leaving many people injured. Security Expert Alok Bansal said that this only shows desperation of Pak Army as they want to infiltrate into Indian borders as soon as possible before snowfall.
