New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said he was confident that solar energy will become economically viable in the coming days. Modi was speaking at the inauguration of the first Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet and Expo, RE-Invest 2015. The Prime Minister said lakhs of families are still deprived of energy and we must use our resources to the optimum level. Talking about the issue of climate change, Prime Minister Modi said that due to lifestyle changes we are utilising the future generations' share of resources. The Prime Minister also stressed that India can show the ways of protecting humankind from the effects of global warming. Strawberry farming proves to be a big hit in West Bengal

Siliguri, Feb 15 (ANI): Farmers in West Bengal were yielding profits from strawberry cultivation. Strawberry farming has become a hit among villagers of Patiramjote area in Siliguri district. Many young farmers are taking it up due to less investments and maximum results. A farmer Rajib Das said he plucks around five kilograms of strawberries every day. He added that demand rose within short span of time, which also resulted in good money. A strawberry expert was invited to West Bengal to see if strawberry farming was possible in the state. The expert pointed out four districts where strawberries could be grown and state's biotechnology department started working on it. The biotechnology department is also giving training to farmers so that they can easily grow strawberries. Bhopal, Feb 15 (ANI): Vintage car owners and collectors converged in Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh for a rally of classic beauties. The rally was organised as a part of the ongoing Bhoj Adventure Festival which aimed to generate awareness about beautification of Bhopal. The rally started from Shahpura Lake and concluded at Kaliyasot Adventure Zone in the city. 25 vintage cars from across Bhopal took part in the rally that was organised by Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and flagged off by BMC Commissioner Tejaswi S Naik. Naik said the rally was a moment of pride for the citizens of Bhopal. In this almost 10 kilometer-long rally, vintage beauties like Austin, Rolls Royce, Ford, Willys, Maruti 1984 and others strutted on the roads enthralling the onlookers. Mumbai, Feb 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the legal professionals strengthened country's freedom movement, while addressing concluding Sesquicentennial Function of the Advocates Association of Western India (AAWI) in Mumbai city. Having a legacy of 150 years, said Modi, was of paramount importance and that people associated with AAWI could take pride in the fact that it produced lawyers like father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi and freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Modi also inaugurated a Permanent Judicial Museum at Bombay High Court set up as part of sesquicentennial celebrations. He also emphasised upon the need to strengthen people's faith in the institution of judiciary. Taking pride in his government doing away with 1700 existing laws, he said drafts for new laws should be available online to bar association. Copenhagen, Feb 15 (ANI): Police cordoned off the streets near a synagogue in central Copenhagen on Sunday after an attack that left one person dead and two police wounded. One person was shot in the head and two police were wounded in the attack, Danish police said on Sunday, adding that it was too early to say whether the incident was connected to an earlier one at an arts cafe. Danish television station said a large metro and train station nearby, Norreport, was being evacuated and people in the area were told to stay indoors. A large area around the synagogue was cordoned off and police was seen searching a nearby park. Earlier, a civilian was also killed after shots were fired in a Copenhagen cafe at which controversial Swedish artist Lars Vilks attended a debate on art and blasphemy, the police said. Activists in Odisha protest against land ordinance

Bhubaneswar, Feb 15 (ANI): Activists in Bhubaneswar city of Odisha held protest against the proposed ordinance to amend the Land Acquisition Act. The central government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi passed an urgent executive order in December last year to ease land-acquisition rules in sectors like power, housing and defence to kick-start hundreds of billions of dollars in stalled projects, though investments are unlikely to flow in immediately. The protest was being held under the National Alliance of People's Movement. A land rights activist Prafulla Samantra said the ordinance is draconian, and a heinous conspiracy to snatch lands from the peasants in the interest of the national and multinational corporates. He further said if the ordinance is passed then the peasants will be uprooted from their land and will add to the number of street beggars.
