Government says no need to panic even as swine flu toll hits 700 mark

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Even as India witnessed a steep rise in the number of swine flu cases in recent days, Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth said that there was no need to panic, adding that the government was taking measures to ensure proper treatment to patients. The H1N1 virus has claimed nearly 700 lives in the country and the number of people affected by it has crossed 10,000 mark, say reports. Seth said that delay in treatment was amounting to rising casualties. Seth said that he was in touch with officials to ensure consistent supply of medicines and other medical equipments to government hospitals. He has also directed drug controllers of various states to ensure availability of necessary vaccines, along with guidelines for usage and treatment protocol. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley launched the single window government-to-business (G2B) portal, www.ebiz.gov.in, for 11 central government services. Jaitley hoped that the eBiz portal would improve Indias ranking on ease of doing business index.
