New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): Political leaders on Thursday reacted over reports of Congress and NCP sharing seat in Maharashtra during upcoming polls. NCP leader Tariq Anwar stated that Congress and NCP are an integral part of UPA and they will mutually decide how to plan candidates in Maharashtra. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that NCP Chief Sharad Pawar is a wise man and he will take a proper decision along with Congress President Sonia Gandhi which will strengthen the two party's relations. Glasgow, July 24 (ANI): The colourful event of Commonwealth Games 2014 kicked off in Glasgow after some enthralling dance and singing performances at the Celtic Park and a minute's silence for the victims of the Malaysian Airlines crash. Queen Elizabeth II travelled by train to Glasgow and declared the games open at the end of the evening's ceremony. Around 6,000 athletes gathered for the opening of the Commonwealth Games. The Games, open to athletes from the 53 Commonwealth of Nations, feature 22 sports. Khunti, July 24 (ANI): Police killed one Maoist in an encounter and also recovered a huge cache of arms in red corridor of Khunti district in Jharkhand. On a tip off, police launched a joint operation along with paramilitary, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in an area where 20 to 25 rebels were estimated to be hiding. During the search operations, Maoists started firing at the police and during the encounter one Maoist was shot dead.
