Police arrest five Maoists in Odisha

Koraput, Dec 08 (ANI): Police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel arrested five Maoists in Koraput district of Maoist infested Odisha. According to the Sub-divisional Police Officer of Koraput, Jalandhar Jali said that the arrested Maoists were working for the Srikakulam-Koraput division of Communist Party of India (Maoist) from past several years and were apprehended near China Sabdam forest. During investigation, the arrested Maoists confessed to have committed murders and series of violence in Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon areas.

Sheila Dikshit resigns as Delhi CM

New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): Sheila Dikshit has resigned as the Delhi Chief Minister and has sent her resignation to the Lieutenant Governor following the defeat of the Congress in Delhi Assembly elections. According to reports, the three time Chief Minister is set to lose her New Delhi constituency as well, as she is trailing behind AAP's Arvind Kejriwal. Dhaka, Dec 08 (ANI): Violence gripped Bangladesh as protests and a series of shutdowns with transport blockades led by the main opposition party BNP, demanding next year's election be held under a non-party administration, took a toll on the country's economic growth. A human rights activist in Bangladesh, Khushi Kabir in Dhaka held BNP responsible for their irresponsible programmes sparking violence in the country. Commenting over political uncertainty, Kabir said that a non-party caretaker government was not the solution. Trading guns at Jamaat-e-Islami, Kabir said that the leaders of the Islamist party should also be arrested.
