BJP condemns Chhattisgarh Naxal attack

New Delhi, Mar 11 (ANI): BJP Leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday condemned the Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh and said that whenever elections are around the corner, Naxals carry out such attacks. Fifteen people have been killed in a gun battle after Naxals ambushed a team of security personnel in the heavily-forested district of Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

At least 20 jawans killed in Chhattisgarh naxal attack

Tongpal, March 11 (ANI): At least 20 jawans are feared killed and several others have been injured in an encounter that went on for over three hours between the Naxals and security forces in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. The attack reportedly began around 10:30 am in the Tongpal area, about 500 km south of Raipur. Following the attack, an encounter broke out between the CRPF-police personnel and Maoists. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said they are "getting information, (but) cannot say anything right now".

Raju Srivastava opted out of SP's Kanpur seat, says party has no base in constituency

Lucknow, March 11 (ANI): Stand-up comedian and actor Raju Srivastava on Tuesday opted out of contesting elections from Samajwadi Party's Kanpur seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Srivastava said that though there is no base of the party in Kanpur, he took this responsibility with positivity but non-cooperation from the SP workers in the constituency made him to resign from the poll fray. He said that people love him for his comedy so he will better stick to the same responsibility and therefore returned the party's ticket with gratitude.

New Delhi, March 11 (ANI): Deputy Chairman of India's Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia on Tuesday called for lifting of restrictions on renewable energy during a conference on 'Financing Renewable and Energy Efficient Technologies' in the national capital of New Delhi. 20 jawans feared dead in Chhattisgarh Naxal attack

Raipur, Mar 11 (ANI): At least 20 jawans are feared dead and several others have been injured in an encounter between the Naxals and security forces in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh today. According to reports, the encounter went on for over three hours. The Naxals attacked a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the state police around 10:30 am in the thickly forested Tongpal area, about 500 km south of Raipur.
