New Delhi, Mar 11 (ANI): After AAP's national executive member Ashok Agarwal resigned from the party saying that the party worked like a “private limited company” with an aim to promote “elite individuals”, BJP leader Harsh Vardhan said that the Aam Aadmi Party is like a sinking ship. He added that many leaders are getting disillusioned by the party as it preaches something and practices something else.

Ashok Agarwal resigns from AAP, says party promoting elite over common man

New Delhi, March 11 (ANI): In another blow to Aam Aadmi Party ahead of 2014 general elections, party’s National Executive Member Ashok Agarwal resigned from the party and said that AAP is promoting elite people over common man. He said that he was unhappy with the ticket distribution process and said that the focus of the party deviated from the interests of the common man. Agarwal also said that he had filed a form to contest as MP from Chandni Chowk but was ignored and he is frustrated about the fact that it is slowly moving away from common man.

Sheila Dikshit sworns in as Kerala Governor

Trivandrum, March 11 (ANI): Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday took oath as the governor of Kerala. Dikshit was administered the oath by Kerala High Court Chief Justice Dr Manjula Chellur. She replaced Nikhil Kumar, who has held the post since March 2013, following his resignation.

Fresh spell of snowfall in Kashmir

Srinagar, March 11 (ANI): A fresh spell of snowfall enveloped Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, plummeting temperature and forcing people to remain indoors. Trees, roads and rooftops of houses in mountainous regions were covered with snow. The fresh snowfall however, will help maintain the water-level in rivers and will boost the production of fruits and crops. Normal life in many parts of north India has also been adversely affected due to the harsh weather conditions. March is generally the month for snow to melt; but with the fresh snowfall even at the onset of the third month, the temperature has again dropped in many northern states such as Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi.

EC bans NaMo tea stall, draws reaction

New Delhi, March 11 (ANI): After Election Commission puts ban on BJP’s ‘NaMo’ tea stall election campaign, BJP Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party workers are requested to function without breaking model code of conduct and the order by the EC will be followed. Reacting on the same, Congress leader Shobha Oza said that the whole thing was nothing but a ‘gimmick’ and that this is nothing new that BJP is giving things for free to people before elections. Further, RJD leader Manoj Jha welcomed the step by EC and said that ‘NaMo’ tea was like dangerous ideas being served to people. Further, AAP leader Ashutosh said that this should have been stopped war before and that it was more like bribing people.

N Kiran Kumar Reddy launches new party Jai Samaikyandhra

New Delhi, March 11 (ANI): Former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy announced the name of his party as Jai Samaikyandhra and said that the struggle for reunification of Andhra Pradesh would start from Telangana region as it stood to lose heavily with the state’s division. Reddy is the president of the new party while former MP Chundru Srihari Rao is the founder president. Controversial MP Lagadapati Rajagopal is not part of the party executive though Reddy said that he would act as an advisor and strategist for the party. Kiran also announced formation of “a small committee” with five General Secretaries, a Treasurer and two members.

Arun Jaitley hails SCs directive on trial of MPs & MLAs

New Delhi, Mar 11 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Tuesday hailed the Supreme Court’s decision towards cleansing the political process by directing that trial proceedings in cases of corruption and serious crimes against elected representatives must be completed within a year. Jaitley said that the Supreme Court has struck a balance by giving such an order as a person cannot be stopped from contesting election merely on the basis of an allegation.

New Delhi/ Lucknow/ Nagpur, March 11 (ANI): After RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat refrained his workers from chanting ‘NaMo NaMo’ and to stay in their limits when campaigning for BJP, politicos reacted in contradictory manner bringing a dent in Narendra Modi’s ‘wave’. Rajnath Singh blames Congress faulty economic policies for poverty
