GJMM, two members of AGP join BJP

New Delhi, March 10 (ANI): BJP and Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM) have formed an alliance for upcoming general elections that start April 07. Leaders from both the parties met at the BJP office on Monday in New Delhi. President for BJP Rajnath Singh called the merger a welcome move. BJP has been trying for an alliance with major regional parties to gain the maximum seats in the general election. Kejriwal pays homage to three alive RTI activists, Politicos react

New Delhi, Mar 10 (ANI): AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal committed a slip-up at his rally in Ahmedabad when he paid homage to four RTI activists, of whom three happens to be alive. Amar Singh, Jaya Prada join RLD

New Delhi, March 10 (ANI): Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, former Samajwadi Party leaders Amar Singh and Jaya Prada on Monday joined Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal. will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Fatehpur and Jaya Prada will fight from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh faces flak for sacking two ministers

New Delhi, March 10 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minsiter Akhilesh Yadav on Monday faced criticism from the former leaders of his party for sacking ministers Anand Singh and Manoj Paras allegedly for anti-party activities. The development came days after Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav warned UP ministers to "mend" their ways or face the sack. Uncertainty in BJP over Lucknow and Varanasi seat, Politicos react

New Delhi/ Lucknow, Mar 10 (ANI): Politicos on Monday reacted to the rift in BJP over seats in Varanasi and Lucknow. Lucknow BJP MP Lalji Tandon has said that he will not vacate his seat for anyone other than party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. According to reports, BJP President Rajnath Singh wants to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Lucknow seat. Speaking on the same, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that he don't have anything to comment on seat distribution. India offers help to trace missing Malaysian plane

Farrukhabad / Ahmednagar, March 10 (ANI): Union Foreign Minister, Salman Khurshid, said that the government has offered help to the Malaysian government to trace the missing plane with 239 people on board. Officials investigating the disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines jetliner with 239 people on board suspect it may have disintegrated in mid-flight, a source told, as Vietnam reported a possible sighting of the wreckage of the plane. Khurshid sent a condolence message on behalf of the nation. Family members of the five Indian passengers missing in the incident are anxiously waiting for any information about the fate of the plane and their near and dear ones. K V Shirsath, father-in-law of missing Indian passenger, Kranti Shirsath, said that she was on her way to China to meet her husband.

Ajit Singh seeks division of Uttar Pradesh

Muzaffarnagar riots: Politicos condemn UP BJP'S plan to seek tickets for four riot-accused MLAs

New Delhi, March 10 (ANI): Cutting across political lines, leaders on Monday condemned the BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit plans to seek Lok Sabha tickets for the four BJP MLAs booked on the charge of fuelling Muzaffarnagar riots. The party plans to propose fielding Kairana MLA Hukum Singh from the Kairana Lok Sabha seat, Bijnore MLA Bhartendu Singh from Bijnore, Sardhana MLA Sangeet Som from Muzaffarnagar seat, and Thana Bhawan MLA Suresh Rana from Saharanpur. The proposals will be put before the BJP central election committee meeting on March 13.

Bangladesh economist appeals to punish Pak war criminals before locals for 1971 liberation war

Dhaka, March 10 (ANI): Bangladesh economist Mahbubul Mokaddem Akash said that before prosecuting local war criminals, Pakistani atrocity makers should be punished, who are accused of genocide during 1971 liberation war and were released under Simla Agreement in 1972. The Simla Agreement was inked between India and Pakistan in July 02, 1972, which paved the way "for a diplomatic recognition" of Bangladesh. While talking to a reporter in Dhaka, Akash demanded a quicker punishment for Pakistani war criminals so as to provide a slight benefit to the Bangladeshi nationals. Unrest erupted in January 2013 when the International Crime Tribunal (ICT) sentenced to death in absentia a leader of Jamaat.
