New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): Reacting on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal's remark on media, Iand B Minister Manish Tewari on Friday said that media of any country has a very special place in democracy. He added that Kejriwal's remark about the media is very unfortunate and it should be condemned. Kejriwal had earlier said that media has been paid heavy amount to promote BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and that he will send media to jail after investigation, if his party comes to power.

New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): The Congress on Friday defended its tainted ministers who have been nominated to fight the upcoming general elections. Incessant unseasonal rains, landslides wreak havoc in Kashmir

Ramban, March 14 (ANI): Kashmir has been struggling to fight the incessant and unseasonal downpour and snowfall that have caused landslides, damaged property throwing life out of gear since last three days. The rains and landslides have caused widespread damage to the private and government property in Ramban district where several residents were forced to leave their houses and shift to safer havens. The Jammu -Srinagar National Highway (NH44) is also closed for vehicular traffic since past three days because of the landslides at several places, leaving several passengers and tourists stranded at different places.

Security officials receive severe injuries during combing operation in Jharkhand

Jharkhand, Mar 14 (ANI): Security officials received severe injuries during a combing operation launched against the Maoists in India's red corridor of Jharkhand. In two separate incidents, security officials were injured during a combing action on Thursday. During search operation in Palamu district in Jharkhand province, three officers were injured after an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) blasted accidentally. In another incident, a team of security officials accidently fired on their own team members in Latehar.

Manipur, Mar 14 (ANI): A two-month-long “Jacquard Weaving Training to Male Weavers” is being held at the Weavers’ Service Centre at Porampat in Imphal east district. The skill development programme has been organized by the Development Commissioner for Handlooms and the Ministry of Textiles in collaboration with the Commerce and Industries department, Government of Manipur. In total 137 male weavers from various districts of the state are taking part in it. The weaving centre was inaugurated in February this year with an aim to encourage the men folk of the state to take up such self employment ventures and contribute to the state’s economy.

Boeing in talks with India airlines on 737 MAX jet

Hyderabad, Mar 14 (ANI): Senior vice president sales for Asia Pacific at Boeing, Dinesh Keskar has said that Boeing Co was in talks with airlines Jet Airways and Air India about the sale of its 737 MAX jets. Keskar told Reuters that the 737 MAX planes are 14 percent more fuel efficient compared with its 737 planes, making them particularly attractive to Indian carriers hurt by high fuel costs. Keskar said that the company looks forward to enter into deals with Air India and Jet Airways following the deal with SpiceJet. SpiceJet had announced a deal with Boeing on March 12, to buy 42 Boeing MAX jets in an order worth Dollar4.4 billion.

Bangladesh intellectual's daughter lauds government for trial of Pakistan war criminals

Dhaka, March 14 (ANI): Nuzhat Choudhury, daughter of Bangladesh intellectual, Alim Chowdhury, has welcomed the initiative of the Bangladesh Government to try Pakistan war criminals accused of genocide during the 1971 liberation struggle. Recently, Bangladesh Law Minister Anisul Haque hinted at the trial of the Pakistani war criminals. Choudhury, while talking to the reporter in Dhaka, slammed Pakistan for not fulfilling the promises it had made.
