No lack of options in politics, rethinking to support Modi: Ramdev

Banda, March 14 (ANI): Yoga guru, an avid supporter of the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, took a spectacular U-turn, saying he was nobody's slave and might rethink on his support to BJP. Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, Ramdev, who has been spearheading a national campaign against black money and corruption, said that the BJP will have to ensure its support on anti-graft agenda in order to strengthen bond of friendship with him. Earlier, Modi had reportedly accepted Ramdev's terms for support in January and Ramdev subsequently declared that an agreement was reached. In return, Ramdev had decided to hold mega Yoga camps across the country from March 17 to March 23, in a bid to mobilize millions of votes for Modi ahead of the general elections. Ramdev, who is disappointed with BJP’s ticket distribution, spoke on his strategies for rectifying politicos.

One killed, many feared trapped in Mumbai building collapse

Mumbai, March 14 (ANI): One person was killed and four others suffered minor injuries after a 'highly dilapidated' seven-story building collapsed in Yashwant Nagar area of Mumbai's Santa Cruz on Friday. A resident of the area said that the local municipal corporation had deemed the building unsafe for living and had given several eviction notices to the residents. Several fire engines, ambulances and a team of NDRF have rushed to the spot.

I skipped rally because I was misled: Anna Hazare

New Delhi, March 14 (ANI): Veteran anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare on Friday said that he gave Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee's rally in the national capital a miss due to lack of crowd and alleged that there was a conspiracy to sabotage it. He further added that Banerjee was cheated and she was told that it was my rally and he was told that it was her rally and there were just 2,000 people. However, he maintained that he supports Banerjee, but won't campaign for any political party in the upcoming elections.

INS Sindhuratna tragedy: SC agrees to hear PIL

New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear a PIL seeking a court-monitored probe into the fire tragedy in submarine INS Sindhuratna and a compensation of Rs 1 crore each for relatives of the two Navy officers who died. A bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam, before whom the matter was mentioned for an urgent hearing, posted the case to March 28. The petition claimed the officers died allegedly due to technical and maintenance failure of batteries in the submarine.

Odisha rally: Modi slams UPA on food security act

New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday defended party chief Arvind Kejriwal, who is at the centre of another controversy over his remark that he would send every compromised media person to jail if his party comes to power at the Centre. Party spokesperson Sanjay Singh called Narendra Modi's support by media, a paid promotion. He also added that a probe must be ordered into opinion polls conducted by media houses.

Congress in Chhattisgarh calls for shutdown to protest Maoist attack

Raipur, Mar 14 (ANI): Congress party, opposition in Chhattisgarh, called for a state-wide shutdown on Friday to protest the recent Maoist attack, which killed 16 security personnel involved in a mine clearing operation. As a mark of protest, the Congress members came out in droves in Raipur and tied black ribbons on the arms of people. Congress party member, Vikas Upadhyay, expressed grief over the killing of many security personnel, politicians and tribals.
