Police tighten security in Maoist hit Odisha ahead of LS Polls

Bhubaneswar, Apr 9 (ANI): Police beefed up security in Maoist-inflicted constituencies of Odisha on Wednesday, a day ahead of mammoth election in the region. The hotbeds of Maoists in the region are under tight security blanket as the world's largest democracy is holding its general election between April 07 and May 12. Amit Shah moves HC against FIRs on hate speeches

New Delhi, Apr 9 (ANI): BJP leader Amit Shah on Wednesday moved a plea in the Allahabad High Court challenging the FIRs lodged against him by the Uttar Pradesh government for alleged hate speeches made by him at election meetings in Bijnore and Shamli districts. The court has sought a copy of the video from Election Commission where Shah is purportedly seen making an inflammatory statement, asking voters to seek revenge over the Muzaffarnagar riots.
