Modi wave has turned into a Tsunami, says Amit Shah

Varanasi, April 24 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah, a close aide of the party prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, said on Thursday that the Modi wave which is sweeping the country has now turned into a tsunami after the latter had filed his Lok Sabha nomination from Varanasi. He asserted that from the environment prevailing in the country, it is pretty evident that the next government will be formed by Narendra Modi.

LS polls: Bollywood big wigs cast vote

Mumbai, Apr 24 (ANI): Bollywood celebrities in Mumbai came out to vote for the 16th Lok Sabha polls on Thursday. Among those who cast their votes were Preity Zinta, Rishi Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor and Lyricist Gulzar. Polling began at 7 AM for the third and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, where 338 candidates are testing electoral waters in 19 Lok Sabha seats.

Leaders cast their vote on second-biggest day of 16th LS polls

Police arrest three Maoists in Jharkhand

Palamu, April 24 (ANI): Acting on a tip-off, police arrested three Maoists accused in several attacks, in Jharkhand and also recovered arms and ammunition during search operation. Police recovered a looted police rifle and many rounds of unused bullets during the arrest of Maoists in Palamu district of Jharkhand. The Maoists, who say they are fighting for the rights of the poor and landless, control some of India's mineral-rich areas and operate in large swathes of eastern, central and southern countryside. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s.

BJP concerned only about power, not about poor: Sonia Gandhi

Valsad, April 24 (ANI): While addressing a rally in Valsad constituency of Gujarat, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday lashed out BJP and said that they are only concerned about gaining power and not about the welfare of poor.
