Politicos react as Lashkar-e-Taiba making recruits learn from Ajmal Kasab's mistakes

New Delhi, July 7 (ANI): Politicos on Monday reacted over a special "Kasab class" which is a part of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)'s training module for its new recruits during which they are told about the mistakes committed by Ajmal Kasab during the deadly Mumbai terror attack. Kasab was the 25-year-old lone Pakistani gunman caught alive after the Mumbai terror attack and was hanged to death at Pune's Yerawada central prison in a top-secret operation on November 21, 2012.

People in Gilgit Baltistan demand their rights

Skardu, July 07: Such protests are widespread on the streets of Gilgit Baltistan. They have been fighting for their basic rights - education, healthcare, food and employment. In Skardu, thousands of people took part in demonstrations for several days to oppose the Pakistan Government’s decision to withdraw the wheat subsidy. The protesters, under the banner of the Awami Action Committee, a constituent of 22 different political, religious and nationalist parties, also demanded an end to colonial rule. Nationalist leader Manzoor Parwana said that Gilgit Baltistan is a disputed area and Pakistan will never succeed in making it a part of its territory. Gilgit Baltistan was annexed from the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir and is strategically located between Pakistan, India, China and Afghanistan.

Pallavi Purkayastha_s killer gets life sentence

Mumbai, July 7 (ANI): Mumbai court on Monday awarded life term to a security guard for molesting and killing lawyer Pallavi Purkayastha in her flat. Sajjad Mogul, the security guard of the building where Pallavi stayed, had been found guilty of all charges, including murder, molestation and trespassing. Earlier on June 30, Sessions Judge Vrushali Joshi, pronouncing 23-year-old Mogul guilty, said that _a case of murder, molestation and criminal trespass has been proved_ against him.

Buddhist monks mark first anniversary of serial blasts at Mahabodhi Temple

Bodh Gaya, July 07 (ANI): Buddhist monks on Monday offered special prayers to mark the first anniversary of serial blasts that rocked the Mahabodhi Temple located in Bodh Gaya, one of holiest shrines in eastern India where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. A series of explosions in and around Buddhism_s holiest shrine in Bihar injured two persons early on July 07, 2013, in what the government described as a ___terror___ attack. Meanwhile, district magistrate, Sanjay Agrawal, said security has been beefed up and adequate arrangements have been made for the tourists and monks. Recalling the incident, monks from various countries gathered at the temple and prayed for world peace.

Opposition slams Gujarat governor Kamla Beniwal_s transfer to Mizoram, BJP defends

New Delhi, July 7 (ANI): In a reshuffle of governors that took place on Sunday evening, Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal was transferred off to Mizoram for the remainder of her term. The Congress and other rival party leaders have slammed this decision of the Modi government. They argued that the transfer was politically motivated and troubling governors in this manner was highly condemnable. The Modi government, however, said that alteration by a new government is a normal procedure. 116 workers freed from Iraq arrive in India

New Delhi, July 07 (ANI): 116 Indian workers who were till now caught up in the war torn Iraq arrived home on Monday, while many others are still being held captive by the suspected militants. Indian workers were greeted with garlands and were offered water and juices at the airport in New Delhi. Chief coordinator of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara management committee, international affairs, Puneet Singh Chadha, said adequate arrangements were being made to send the workers back to their hometowns. Meanwhile, a freed Indian worker, who was abducted in Iraq, Arjun recalling his ordeal said the Indian embassy in Iraq was of no help.

SC rules out Sharia Courts and fatwas, terms it illegal

New Delhi, July 07 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday issued a landmark judgement where it declared that the Sharia Courts and religious decrees or fatwas are illegal if they tread on the rights of an individual. The court further objected to the Sharia Courts ordering punishments against innocent people and said that no religion permits the same. The court was hearing a petition challenging the functioning of parallel courts in India.

Market expert on Nifty hitting all-time high ahead of Budget; Sensex crossing 26000
