Market Expert hopes for positive upcoming budget from NDA govt

New Delhi, July 06 (ANI): As the upcoming budget is to be presented by the NDA government on July 10, Market Expert Akash Jindal hoped for a positive budget with a sweetened effect. He said that the target oif the budget could be reduction of inflation, taxes and to have massive reforms for agriculture and industry. He also talked about changes in direct and indirect taxes and GSTs. Further, he also said that the government should make norms to increase investment in the nation that has lost in this sphere a lot recently.

Villagers flee homes in Moradabad in wake of violent clashes

Moradabad, July 06 (ANI): Villagers in Moradabad district on Sunday fled their homes fearing for their lives in wake of violent clashes. Tension is prevailing in Kanth village after BJP workers clashed with police and Samajwadi Party members over removal of a loudspeaker from a temple by the administration decision. The detention of BJP leaders, workers and supporters while on their way to attend a huge religious gathering, 'Mahapanchayat', in Moradabad to protest the decision, led to skirmish with police and the SP workers. A District Magistrate and police officials were injured in stone-pelting by protesters. Police resorted to rounds of firing to control the unruly mob. Police has arrested 62 people for instigating violence to bring the situation under control.

BJP delegation arrives in Moradabad to take stance of situation, stopped by administration

Moradabad, July 06 (ANI): BJP delegation on Saturday arrived in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh to take stance of situation in the district after violence over removal of loudspeaker from a temple. Moradabad Commissioner Shiv Shankar Singh later said that the delegation has been stopped from visiting the place taking stalk of the vulnerable situation. Meanwhile, BJP leader Suresh Rana said that the party doesn't want any disturbance in the state and that law and order has been deteriorated in UP. He also said that the delegation will visit the place and talk to administration in the matter.

Senior BJP Leader LK Advani and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched the campaign which is being done in order to strengthen the party's cadre base ahead of Assembly elections. CPI (M) blames TMC govt as college student killed in North 24 Parganas for opposing goons

New Delhi/ Kolkata, July 06 (ANI): CPI (M) blamed Mamata Banerjee's TMC government in West Bengal for killing of a college student in North 24 Parganas district who was protesting against goons. The body of a 22-year-old college student was found in multiple pieces near a rail track in North 24 Parganas district on Saturday. Mohammed Salim said that all the goons are patronized by the CM herself and they have the confidence that no one can stop them. Ritabrata Banerjee said that West Bengal is anti-social place and that anti-social elements are running free in the state.

Former Karnataka CM caught on tape asking for bribe, Politicos react

New Delhi, July 06 (ANI): Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has been caught on tape asking for bribe to give away his party’s seat for the Upper House which has drawn political reactions. Confusion persists over LOP ahead of budget session

New Delhi, July 6 (ANI): Confusion continues to persist over the selection of Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the parliament ahead of the budget session. Politicos from rival parties continued to create public opinion on the subject with senior leaders saying that it would be appropriate to take the matter to court if the decision does not go in their favour. The Congress, reduced to just 44 MPs in the House, said that denial of the LoP status could be dangerous for the democracy of India. The BJP, however, stressed that the electorate has not given the Congress the numbers to enable it to get the LoP status.

Hike tobacco tax to 50%: Harsh Vardhan to states, UTs

New Delhi, July 06 (ANI): In a bid to discourage smoking among youths, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has written to heads of states and UTs to consider levying a uniform VAT of at least 50 per cent on all tobacco products. He has also urged to develop a tax policy to make tobacco products less affordable over time, according to an official statement. Vardan had earlier written to the Finance Ministry seeking to increase the taxes on cigarettes in June, wherin he had urged Arun Jaitley to increase the price of cigarette by Rs 3.5 per stick irrespective of its length.

200 stranded Indian workers return home from war torn Iraq

New Delhi, July 6 (ANI): A group of 200 Indian workers, who were stranded in war torn Iraq, arrived in New Delhi on Sunday. An Indian worker, Upendra Singh, said that the situation in Iraq has worsened as conflict is going between Shiite and Sunni. Another worker Mohammed Alam complained that the company they worked for did not provide them any help to return back to the country. Alam further added that India embassy was helpful and provided them ticket ensuring their safe exit. Earlier on Saturday, 46 freed nurses, who were abducted by suspected Islamist militants in Iraq, also arrived home in Kochi city of Kerala. A group of 78 workers belonging to Andhra Pradesh also reached India. While many have returned to India, 40 Indian construction workers are reportedly still in captivity.
