New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Wednesday highlighted the international events between India and Uganda and USA. Akbaruddin said that US State Secretary John Kerry will shortly arrive in India to hold bilateral talks with Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. He added that India will also maintain bilateral and friendly relations with Uganda. Akbaruddin then said that the External Affairs Minister is working on safe return of nurses from Libya.

2002 riots: Gujarat High Court grants bail to Maya Kodnani

Prithviraj Chavan on Pune landslide

Mumbai, July 30 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Wednesday said that over 150 are feared trapped under debris of more than 44 houses that were buried in a landslide triggered by heavy rains at Malin village in Ambegaon tehsil of Pune district. Talking to mediapersons in Mumbai he said that rescue operations are on in full swing with the help of teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Chavan added that he will go to the village with Deputy CM Ajit Pawar to personally monitor rescue efforts.

Kanpur murder case: Businessman confesses to killing wife

Kanpur, July 30 (ANI): In a new twist in the Kanpur murder case, the husband has confessed to have plotted the murder of his wife with the help of his driver. Piyush Shyam Dashani was arrested on Tuesday after his wife Jyoti Dashani was found murdered on Monday. She was abducted after some bikers allegedly intercepted the car the couple was traveling in on Sunday night. They took her away in the car. She was later found stabbed to death in the same vehicle. Police said CCTV camera footage led them to suspect the hand of Piyush in the murder. He was seen wearing two different outfits on the night of the murder.

Heavy rains halt life in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, July 30 (ANI): Heavy rains in Ahmedabad brought life to a standstill on Wednesday but cheered people up. The incessant rains that started a night ago clogged city roads, creating huge potholes in them. The rainwater also flooded roads outside Ahmedabad's airport and caused inconvenience to people. People blamed carelessness of local Municipal Corporation for the water-filled roads, uprooting of trees and power shortages. However, rainfall has come as a relief to people trying to cope up with the unbearable summers in India. Pune Landslide: Many feared trapped, 5 bodies recovered

Supertech Case: SC orders builders to refund buyers_ money

New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday gave a ruling that Supertech Builders should fulfill their commitment to the buyers and refund their invested money. The Court also asked Supertech to allot another flat to allottees who did not want to get a refund. The Allahabad High Court in April ordered the demolition of two 40-storey towers of real estate firm Supertech for illegal construction. The residential towers were part of the Emerald Court Project in Noida.
