US is committed to relationship with India: Top US official Nisha Desai Biswal

New Delhi, June 09 (ANI): The United States is very committed to relationship with India, said US Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Desai Biswal on Monday in New Delhi. This is the first such engagement between India and the US after the Narendra Modi-led BJP government took over. The visit, which the US requested, will see Biswal try to reset the India-US relationship that has come through tense times due to former Indian envoy Devyani Khobragade case. The two sides are expected to discuss upcoming engagements including the India-US-Japan trilateral talks on June 23-24, as well as the next round of the India-U.S. Strategic Dialogue, which is expected soon. Speaking to mediapersons, Biswal was hopeful that the meeting with Indian government will be fruitful. Addressing the Parliament, Mukherjee said that the new government would pursue a broad economic reform agenda focused on job creation through public and private investment that also makes containing inflation its top priority.
