Mumbai team in Indian Super league reflects attributes of the city, says Ranbir

Mumbai, Aug 31 (ANI): While launching the logo of Indian Super League’s Mumbai franchise co-owner, Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor, said his team stands for the same characteristics that India’s financial capital stands for, namely hard work, determination and resilience. Indian Super League is billed as 'the birth of a foot-balling nation.' The tournament will begin on October 12. It was launched by billionaire Mukesh Ambani's wife, Nita Ambani, with backing from cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar and other co-owners of the eight franchises from across the country. The technical director, Nishant Mehra, also emphasised strongly on the Mumbai-ness of the team.

Politicos react on worsening situation in Pakistan

New Delhi, Aug 31 (ANI): Political leaders on Sunday reacted over the critical situation in Pakistan which has led to an unstable situation in the neighbouring country. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that Pakistan is a neighbour and India wants to maintain good relations with them, but unless their political situation gets improved, things cannot work out between both nations. India and Nepal hold joint war training session, Surya Kiran 7

Pithoragarh, Aug 31 (ANI): India holds a 14-day-long joint-war training session, Surya Kiran-7, with the Nepali Army at Pithoragarh city of Uttarakhand. The main aim of the session was to strengthen relations between the two nations, especially the army, so as to avoid any possible conflicts. Lieutenant General of Gorkha regiment, Pithoragarh, Ashwin Kumar, said the aim of the session was that both nations learn the good acts and tackling methods from each other. The session included training on not only war situations but also on disaster management. The next joint war training session, Surya Kiran-8 will be held in Nepal.

PM Modi visits Kinkaku ji Temple, interacts with public

Kyoto, Aug 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi accompanied by Japanese PM Shinzo Abe on Sunday visited the Kinkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto city of Japan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also interacted with common public outside the temple in Japan. He arrived in Japan on Saturday and was received by senior officials of the Japanese administration at the airport. Visva Bharti University sexual assault case: FIR registered against 3 students

Bolpur, Aug 30 (ANI): FIR was registered against three students on Saturday in the Visva-Bharati University alleged sexual assault case. According to reports, the prestigious University has suspended three students for their alleged involvement in the case. Police has initiated probe into the incident after the complaint was lodged by the University. Mayawati slams Modi's Jan Dhan Yojna

Lucknow, Aug 30 (ANI): BSP chief Mayawati said on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's newly launched banking scheme Jan Dhan Yojna cannot help the poor of the country as law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has worsened. Maywati said the Jan Dhan Yojna scheme has tangled rules and regulations and due to this, poor people will not receive any direct monetary benefit from this scheme. PM Modi meets Japanese PM Shinzo Abe in Kyoto

Kyoto, Aug 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Kyoto on Saturday. PM Modi along with Abe later fed on fishes in the pond at the State Guest House in Kyoto city of Japan, which is Modi's first stoppage during his five-days visit to Japan. Taming inflation, restarting growth are priorities for govt: Jaitley (Part - 3)

New Delhi, Aug 30 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said that the mood of the country changed when the election results were announced. Talking to mediapersons in New Delhi, Jaitley said that containing inflation, restarting growth and investment cycles and keeping fiscal deficit at acceptable level were priorities for the new government. Government is taking steps to improve ease of doing business, opening up significant sectors, expedite decision-making while maintaining social sector expenditure in most areas. He added that there is by and large moderation of inflation; manufacturing curve has turned. The government has an ambitious disinvestment plan.
