Narayan Rane resigns from Maharashtra Cabinet

Mumbai, July 21 (ANI): Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane resigned from the state cabinet on Monday. He submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. Rane, a chief ministerial aspirant, has been reportedly upset with the party for not giving him the top post. He had announced last week that he will resign from his ministerial post, but will continue to be a member of the Congress Party. Rane had joined the Congress after he quit the Shiv Sena in 2005. Guwahati, July 21 (ANI): Encephalitis syndrome threat looms large over in Assam, while experts have sounded alert due to significant rise in number of cases reported that have been tested positive. The deadly disease is gradually taking a toll in Guwahati city since the month of June and has resulted in death of four people so far. The deceased includes two adults and two children who were undergoing treatment in the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Principal of Guwahati Medical College Hospital, Ramen Talukdar said that the patients suffering from the Japanese Encephalitis have been kept under strict observation in the hospital. Patients admitted in the hospital belong to the surrounding districts like Nalbari, Darrang and Goalpara. Around 22 districts of Assam are Encephalitis affected. Jul 21, 2014
