The Indian Meteorological Department rated Hudhud as a very severe cyclonic storm that could pack gusts of 195 km/h and dump more than 24.5 cm of rain when it makes landfall. Meanwhile, residents in Visakhapatnam accused state government in Andhra Pradesh for lack of preparations. A resident Nageshwar alleged that claims made by government that everything was normal was false. 42 teams deployed for rescue and relief: NDRF on cyclone Hudhud

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): NDRF DIG Randeep Kumar Rana on Sunday said that the cyclone Hudhud will cross Vizag in about an hour and 42 teams have been deployed for rescue and relief operations. New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an emergency meeting with the chief of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and other officials to take detailed review of the preparedness for cyclone Hudhud, which is likely to make landfall by noon on Sunday. The meeting was held in the presence of Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth. Purulia, Oct 12 (ANI): In the backdrop of recent blast, Police detained a vehicle carrying explosives in Purulia district of West Bengal. This vehicle, a Tata Sumo, was going towards Barabazar from Boro area. Police recovered 1100 detonators and 2800 gelatine sticks from this car. Two men, identified as SK Sahabul and Rakesh Mudi have been arrested in this case. Reportedly, these men were going to deliver the explosives found in the car to a third person, Chandan Singh of Barabazar area. Purulia police is interrogating to find out if these huge quantities of explosives were being carried in connection to any Maoist or terrorist activity. TMC blames government for blast in West Bengal
