PM Modi meets Foreign Affairs Minister of Nepal

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met the Foreign Affairs Minister of Nepal Mr Mahendra Bahadur Pandey to hold bilateral talks. Pandey had also met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj earlier in the day. Speaking on the issue of Pakistan supporters protesting against India in London, MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that the issue was raised with the colleagues in UK who assured that such matters should be solved by Pakistan and India itself. Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh also met Germany's Foreign secretary Dr Markus Ederer and a meeting was held between a delegation of leaders from both countries.

Mausoleum of Saint Sayuddin in Bijnor endorses communal harmony

Electric rickshaw owners to get clearances soon, says Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): India's Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday assured that electric rickshaw owners would be able to get clearances soon for their vehicles. Earlier this month, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways brought out the much awaited notification on electric rickshaws, also known as e-rickshaws. According to the notification, the conditions which are necessary for e-rickshaws to be able to ply on Delhi roads include a driving licence, a registration number like that of any other vehicle, vehicle insurance and the approval of the concerned e-rickshaw model by the government. The notification came as a reversal of a ban on e-rickshaws by the Delhi High Court on July 31, citing them as a hazard. It had also stated the ban would continue till the rules and regulations for them are outlined by the India's Road Transport Ministry. Gadkari, who met Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Monday and other authorities to fine tune the process, said minor technicalities have been smoothened out.

Congress draws road map for 2015 party elections

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): The Congress party on Monday held an organizational level meeting to draw the road map for 2015 party elections slated to take place in May. The meeting was called a day after the party witnessed major defeat in assembly polls of Maharashtra and Haryana, where the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made big gains. General Secretary of Congress party, Janardan Dwivedi told mediapersons that the party is to hold elections at all levels, right from primary unit block committees for the process of electing the party president next year. BJP to focus in southern India following positive poll results
