Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav while speaking at the Bhoomi Pujan said that efforts will be made to complete the project before the next state assembly election which will be held in 2016. He added that there is no other state in which the metro project is being carried out simultaneously at three different places. Jayalalithaa will now lose MLA's post and will have to step down as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. She has been charged with accumulating Rs 66 crore wealth through dishonest means during her first tenure as chief minister from 1991 to 1996.
