9 charred to death, 13 injured after gas tanker explodes on Delhi-Jaipur highway

Chandwaji, Dec 14 (ANI): Nine people were burnt alive and 13 others were injured after a gas tanker caught fire and exploded on the Delhi-Jaipur highway near Beelpur village. Eight vehicles going passing through the highway at the time of accident also caught fire. The mishap caused a huge traffic jam on the national highway which was cleared in the morning. The cause of the fire is still not known and an FIR has been lodged into the matter. Further details are awaited. Dec 14, 2014

Two killed, one injured after speeding cab mows down policemen

New Delhi, Dec 14 (ANI): A cab driver mowed down two cops and injured another in a bid to escape checking at a barricade in Kalindi Kunj on Sunday. The cops tried to stop the speeding cab but the driver rammed into the barricade. He then mowed down the policemen who tried to stop him. According to the reports, the driver was allegedly drunk and even dragged the policemen for about 100 metres after hitting them. He was then chased and nabbed by other cops some distance away from the spot. The cabbie has been identified as Hemant from Ghaziabad and has been arrested under sections of causing death due to negligence (304A IPC) and rash driving (279 IPC).
