Chennai, Jan 30 (ANI): Former Environment Minister and former senior Congress leader Jayanthi Natarajan on Friday announced her resignation from the primary membership of Congress. At a formal press conference in Chennai, Natarajan said that it is not the same Congress that she had joined anymore. She added that she has no issues with State party and that she was sidelined by the National High Command. She further said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had stopped her from issuing environmental clearances to several projects; however, after she resigned Gandhi himself said at a FICCI conference that environmental clearances would be made easy now. New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on his death anniversary. PM Modi was accompanied by Vice President Hamid Ansari and Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Manohar Parrikar at Rajghat. President Pranab Mukherjee also laid floral wreath at the cremation spot of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The day is also observed as Martyrs' Day. The three Service Chiefs, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan and Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha together paid tribute to Gandhiji. On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated at a prayer meeting. Three Indian villagers injured in fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan

Arnia, Jan 30 (ANI): In a fresh incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistani Rangers on the international border in Kashmir, three villagers were injured. The incident happened in Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir late Thursday night. The Border Security Force (BSF) has retaliated in full measure. Villagers rushed the three injured to a government hospital where condition of one of them has been described as critical. Residents said they faced difficulty in rescuing the wounded amid a barrage of bullets.
