Former Railway Minister terms Rail Budget as 'disappointing'

Chandigarh, Feb 26 (ANI): Former Railway Minister, Pawan Bansal on Thursday termed the Rail Budget presented by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu as ‘disappointing’. Bansal said that he was expecting reduction in fares as fuel prices have been slashed in the past few months. He added that there was no vision to increase employment or reduce poverty through employment in railways. Further, Bansal said that there was nothing new in the budget but only a continuation of the old projects.

New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Union Railway Budget Suresh Prabhu on Thursday presented the Rail Budget for fiscal year 2015-16. Prabhu assured that there has been no increase in passenger fares in railways. He added that surveillance camera will be installed on select mainline and ladies compartments to insure safety of women. Further speaking on women's safety, Prabhu added that Nirbhaya fund would be utilized for augmenting safer travel for women.
